1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern the use of services provided by Gearwright, a watch repair workshop located at 145 Beach Road, Pattaya, Bang Lamung, Chonburi 20150, Thailand. By submitting a watch for repair or enquiring about our services, you agree to the terms set out below.

These terms apply to all watch repair services including walk-in work, items left for service, and any work agreed following an initial assessment.

2. Services

Gearwright provides three categories of watch repair service:

Prices shown are standard starting rates. Where a watch requires work beyond the standard scope — such as sourcing specialist parts or addressing additional damage — a revised estimate will be provided and agreed with you before work proceeds.

3. Intake and Assessment

When a watch is left with us for service, we record its condition at the time of receipt, including any visible damage, scratches, or missing parts. This intake record is shared with you before work begins.

You will be informed of any findings that affect the scope or cost of the agreed service before we proceed. Work requiring a change in scope or price will not begin without your agreement.

4. Collection and Storage

We will notify you when your watch is ready for collection. Watches not collected within 60 days of notification will incur a storage fee of ฿200 per additional 30-day period.

Watches uncollected after 180 days from the completion notification date may, at our discretion, be disposed of or sold to recover the cost of service. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking any such action.

You are responsible for arranging collection in person or providing written instructions for courier dispatch. Courier and packaging costs for posted collections are at your expense.

5. Payment

Payment is due in full upon collection of your watch. We accept Thai Baht by cash and major debit or credit cards. Prices are inclusive of applicable taxes unless otherwise stated.

If an agreed service cannot be completed — for instance, because required parts are unavailable — you will not be charged for work that was not carried out.

6. Limitation of Liability

Gearwright takes reasonable care with every item in our possession. We will not be liable for pre-existing damage or conditions not noted at intake, normal wear from the servicing process, or complications arising from the age or condition of parts beyond our control.

Our liability for any loss or damage to your watch while in our care is limited to the reasonable repair or replacement cost of the affected components. We strongly recommend that you maintain appropriate insurance for valuable timepieces.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for negligence or other conduct that cannot be excluded under Thai law.

7. Workmanship

We stand behind the quality of our work. If a concern arises directly related to work carried out by us, we ask that you return the watch within 90 days of collection so we can assess it.

This does not cover damage resulting from subsequent misuse, knocks, water ingress beyond the watch's rated resistance, or work carried out by a third party after leaving our workshop.

8. Parts and Materials

Where original manufacturer parts are unavailable, we will discuss suitable alternatives with you before sourcing. We will not install substitute parts without your knowledge and consent.

Replaced parts removed from your watch are available for collection on request, provided they have no further use in the repair.

9. Website Use

All content on our website at gearwrighty.blog — including text, images, and design — belongs to Gearwright or its licensors. You may not reproduce or redistribute it without written permission.

Use of this website for any unlawful purpose or in a way that could harm our systems or other users is not permitted.

10. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Thailand. Any dispute arising from the use of our services or website will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. The current version is always available on this page, identified by the date at the top. Continued use of our services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
